Proverbs 8:1, 10, 18-19, 21, 34 “Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice? … Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold … With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity. My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver … bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love me and making their treasuries full … For those who find me find life and receive favor from the LORD.”
Principle:True wealth and success are found in listening to God and knowing Him.

Someone should write a book on this proverb as it relates to true success. Here are a few of the phrases which relate to work and business: gain prudence and understanding; speak truth, practice justice and righteousness; choose instruction over silver and knowledge rather than gold; wisdom is more precious than rubies, bestowing wealth and making treasuries full; counsel and sound judgment are God’s; power, riches, honor, and enduring wealth are with Him. The central idea of this proverb is to listen to God. (vs. 5-11, 33-35)
God tells us to listen for He has something worthy to say. Think of the one person who is tops in a field that interests you. The field could be a vocation, hobby, sport, or interest of any kind. The offer is to come to that expert any time day or night, anywhere and as for as long as you wish.
He comes to you, Wisdom Himself, author of everything, counselor of kings, with the secrets of the universe. He wants to instruct you about life. You would be crazy to walk away. Every morning God invites you afresh. He waits for you to open His book, listen to the voice of the Spirit and show you the way to go that day. What an offer!
