Wealth Formula

Proverbs 10:4 “Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.”

Principle: Wealth comes out of a decision to do something well and do it now.

One of the most productive home developers of the last century was the Levitt family. From 1947 to 1951, they built 17,500 homes in one community, Levittown, N.Y. It was America’s first mass-produced suburb.

This was a brand-new idea requiring strategic planning with diligent follow-through. It broke the mold of home building up to that time.

Working in teams, a precise choreography of framers, painters, installers, electricians would do their tasks and move on to the next home. At the peak of production, the teams could complete thirty-six homes a day. The houses were ridiculed for their simplicity, and some called the project a potential slum.

Levittown pioneered building techniques that are now standard in the construction industry, and they helped bring the American dream of home ownership to thousands of people of modest means. It never became a slum.

Currently, a lot of business methods need to be re-invented and implemented with diligence. Think, pray, plan and do it now.

Discussion:

1. What is an area in your business that needs to be brought up to date?

2. What are the problems that are holding you back from implementing change?

3. If laziness or procrastination is in the list of problems, what baby step would free you up from inaction?
